Coastal Commission

The California Coastal Commission names Jack Ainsworth the new executive director at a meeting Friday in Newport Beach. The commission fired his predecessor at a contentious meeting held in Morro Bay last year. Ainsworth has been interim director since March. The 59-year-old Ainsworth has been with the Coastal Commission for nearly three decades.

Erosion forces evacuation in Atascadero

An Atascadero home evacuated yesterday because of a swollen Atascadero creek. Erosion along the creek threatened a house on Ensenada Avenue.
