Historic Tree Removed from Sunken Gardens

 

A Cedar Tree that was planted in the early days of Atascadero’s remarkable history was removed yesterday. The 90-year-old tree was dying and city officials became concerned about falling tree branches injuring visitors to the Sunken Gardens.
The tree was planted within 10 years of the park’s opening in 1917.
