After a car chase that reached speeds above 100 miles per hour, a 25-year-old was arrested in a Templeton vineyard. The chase began in Atascadero around 8 yesterday morning.
Police learned that a stolen Honda Accord had been found near Santa Margarita. While en route to recover the stolen Honda, the police learned he was driving toward Atascadero. Officers caught up to him near the city limits. When they turned on their sirens, the driver took off and the chase began.
The driver entered Highway 101 and drove at speeds reaching 105 miles her hour. He finally exited at Las Tablas Road and drove west. That’s where sheriff’s deputies and the CHP took over.
They found the Honda outside a vineyard and spotted the suspect riding around the vineyard in a quad all-terrain vehicle. He was was arrested after hiding in the vineyard.
25-year-old Bradleigh Tabelin was taken into custody. He’s on felony probation and has a suspended driver’s license. He was booked into the county jail on felony failure to yield and possession of a stolen vehicle.
