State senate president pro term Kevin de Leon unveils plans yesterday to challenge incumbent senator Diane Fienstein. De Leon says the state has changed significantly over the past 25 years, and that changes the priorities and expectation voters want from their senator.
Last year, senator Kamala Harris won the senate seat vacated by senator Barbara Boxer, who retired.
Feinstein is 84. She and her husband have made millions of dollars during her tenure in the US senate. If she’s re-elected, and survives her term, she will become California’s longest serving senator, ever.
