Yesterday afternoon, two vegetation fires burned on both sides of highway 46 west near Cambria.
Cal Fire responded quickly to the scene, containing both fires. The smaller fire was contained at a quarter of an acre, and the larger fire was contained at nine acres. The larger fire had the potential to grow to about 25 acres.
Cal Fire says the cause was a tire blowout on a Mini Cooper that was being towed behind a larger motorhome.
