Meanwhile, mortgage rates drop for the third week in a row. That gives home buyers more power in paying for a home. The interest rate on a 30-year fixed rate mortgage decreased to 6.32%, according to Freddie Mac. The rate has dropped almost three points in the past three weeks.
The state of California is offering down payments to first time home buyers.
