This week, the Housing Authority of San Luis Obispo began accepting applications for 60 affordable housing units at the former Motel 6 in Paso Robles. The group is accepting 300 applications. The first ten families may move in next month.
The housing authority is operating at the south end of Motel 6. ECHO has units at the north end, which operates like ECHO in Atascadero.
ECHO is working with homeless to get them prepared to find homes and become functioning members of the community.
HASLO, which is the acronym for the Housing Authority of San Luis Obispo is separate and will offer affordable housing. Tenants will pay 30% of their income toward the rent. The rest will be covered by HASLO.
People can apply for the housing online.
