The Cuesta college women’s volleyball team lost a regional play off game to the Fullerton Hornets 3 sets to one. It was the first play off appearance for the Cougars since 2006. Coach Whitney Meyer says it was exciting.
Meredith Donovan played at Templeton high school. Riley Thompson is from Atascadero, but attended for SLO Classical Academy. Both are freshmen.
The Cal Poly Mustangs lost to Northern Arizona 45-21. The Mustangs finish 2-9 for the season.
In high school football, the Coast Union Broncos lost to Faith Baptist of Canoga Park 62-6 in the 8-man football semifinals.
Morro Bay beat Pioneer Valley 29-26 to advance in the division 6 semifinals. Morro Bay improves to 6-6 overall. Pioneer Valley finishes the season at 1-8. The Pirates will face Taft in the valley for the division 6 championship.
The Panthers end the season with a record of 1-8.
