A joint press conference was held with the Monterey county sheriff’s office, King City police department, and Salinas police department on Friday, May 10th.
An announcement was made that arrests were made relating to the King City mass shooting that left four people dead on March 3rd, and a double homicide in south Monterey county that left two cousins dead on February 4th. The double homicide incident left cousins Andres Garcia and Jack Cachola dead with apparent gunshot wounds.
In the King City mass shooting event, a vehicle pulled up to a birthday party on the 200 block of Second street in King City, opening fire that resulted in the injury of 11 individuals, and the death of four. The four deceased are Alicia Ramirez Aparicio, who was celebrating her birthday, Mario Guzman Mendoza, Francisco Aldape Perez, and Olivo Perez Pina.
Sheriff Tina Nieto announced they arrested 18-year-old Jonathan Leal Cervantes of Greenfield, 32-year-old Pedro Manuel Nava of Greenfield, and a juvenile, whose name will not be released.
Each individual is being charged with 4 counts of murder, 4 counts of criminal conspiracy to commit murder, 7 counts of attempted murder, and more.
