Atascadero Fire & Emergency Services announced that the fire hazard reduction burn season will close today.
The city of Atascadero strongly encourages its residents to use alternative forms of disaposal, and burning should be used as a last resort.
Burns are also not allowed within five days of measurable rain.
Whether a burn is permissible on a given day or not is also determined by the California Air Resources Control Board.
