Attorney Michael Avenatti pleads not guilty to charges he stole millions of dollars from clients, cheated on his taxes and lied to investigators. He entered his not guilty plea yesterday in federal court in Santa Ana. Avenatti said, “not guilty to all charges.”
Avenatti rose to fame representing porn star Stormy Daniels in her legal battles against president Donald Trump. At one point, he was perceived as a viable democratic candidate for president.
Earlier this month he was indicted on 36 counts including wire and bank fraud. His trial is scheduled to start June 25th. Prosecutors say he embezzled funds from his clients.
