The concert in the park last night in Paso Robles downtown city park was actually part of the Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest. Dozens of brewers from throughout the country are sharing their beer Saturday at the Paso Robles Event Center.
Today, brew masters will relax at Ravine Water Park.
Tomorrow, the Beer Fest runs from 8 in the morning until two in the afternoon at the Paso Robles Event Center. It’s sold out. It sells out within seconds.
As for Ben Franklin’s famous quote…”Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.”
That’s not actually the quote.
In a letter in 1779, Ben Franklin wrote a letter to Andre Morellet, a friend in France. He wrote the letter in French, but this is the translation.
“Behold the rain which descends from heaven upon our vineyards, and which incorporates itself with the grapes to be changed into wine; a constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy.”
That’s the real quote from Ben Franklin. It was about wine, not beer, but the message is the same. God loves us and wants us to be happy.
