Monday afternoon, Cal Fire and the CHP rescued a stranded hiker off a cliff near Ragged Point. He was stuck on rocks 100 feet from the edge of the cliff off highway one. A CHP helicopter was brought in to assist in the rescue. They used a Bill Pugh Basket to rescue the hiker.

The county health department reports that seven San Luis Obispo county residents with covid died over the past week. Three people were older than 85. Three were between 65 and 84. One was between 50-64. The county did not provide any information about their other health issues.
