The June primary includes the first election for the new 19th congressional district.
Recently congressman Jimmy Panetta visited the north county on a campaign swing.
On the republican side, Dalila Epperson is also running for the seat. Dalila is an Italian name which is her background. Her mother was first generation, and when her dad was deployed to Vietnam, she and her mom returned to Italy. So, Italian was her first language.

Monday night, Epperson and republican candidate Jeff Gorman spoke to a tea party meeting at republican headquarters in Atascadero.
The primary election is in June.
