An animal rescue group in the Bay Area is asking for help caring for 89 baby snowy egrets and black-crowned night herons who were left homeless last week after a tree fell over in downtown Oakland.
International Bird Rescue is asking for donations and volunteers to help feed and care for the baby birds rescued after an old ficus tree split in half and partially fell last week. They say the tree served as rookery for the birds.
The group is caring for the birds and eggs rescued from the tree. It rescued 17 eggs that require intensive care and round-the-clock support.
