The ballot counting continues at the San Luis Obispo county elections office.
Darcia Stebbens says they’re working on the election, but they’re not counting ballots every day. Some days they count. Other days they process the ballots to prepare to count them.
From the ballot counting Friday and Saturday, we learn that Bruce Gibson still leads in the 2nd district county supervisors race over Dr. Bruce Jones by about 1,000 votes. Gibson with 53.5% of the vote to Jones with 46.4%
Paso Robles mayor Steve Martin leads Michael Rivera by nearly 900 votes, 57-43%. In the Paso Robles school board race, the teacher’s union candidates lead in all three races. Jim Cogan with a wide lead in Area 1. Cogan has 48% of the vote. Arend with 27% and Peter Byrne with just under 25%.
