The smoke lingers over northern California from the Camp Fire, which destroyed the town of Paradise, near Chico. The death toll reaches 56. The number of people missing is now 130.
Butte county sheriff’s office releasing a list of 130 people who have been reported missing since the blaze erupted last week. Many on the list are senior citizens who apparently could not escape from the Camp Fire flames. Specialists are searching through the debris, looking for the remains of those who are missing. It’s already described as the deadliest wildfire in California history.
Throughout northern California high school football playoff games have been delayed because of the fire and smokey conditions it’s created in the San Francisco Bay Area.
