Roadwork now underway to expand highway 46 east to four lanes between Shandon and Cholame.
At the ground breaking Friday, supervisor John Peschong thanked assemblyman Jordan Cunningham for his part in securing the funding for that road work.
When that road work is completed between Shandon and Cholame, the next project will be to fix the 41/46 interchange.
That project is scheduled to begin in 2024.
