Was it hot enough for over the weekend? Forecasters say temperatures will reach the 100 mark again today in the north county. A few degrees cooler tomorrow. We’ll see a cooling trend later this week with temperatures dropping into the mid 80’s by Friday.
The hot and windy weather sparked a few fires in the north county. Just north of lake Nacimento Saturday afternoon, a fire burned off Bee Rock road. Two buildings and 2 acres burned. The fire was stopped around five Saturday afternoon.
Another brush fire burned a couple acres near the KOA campground near Santa Margarita lake. It threatened a couple structures but was quickly contained. There’s was also a half acre grass fire Saturday in Paso Robles. Another small fire was reported near Soda lake in the California Valley.
On Sunday morning, another vegetation fire occurred near Beacon road and Jardine road in Paso Robles. That fire grew to about 2 acres around 11:15 Sunday morning, but it was contained about 30 minutes later.
