Those ground hogs making predictions back in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The woodchucks predicting another six weeks of winter. That’s the 135th time they’ve made their prediction.
Meanwhile in the sierra, the state department of water resources issues it’s snow measurements. Without significant amounts of rain or snow in January, the water contained in California’s mountain snow is now at 92% of its historical average. That’s a big change from December when the snow pack’s water content was at 160% of average. Snow run off accounts for about one-third of the state’s water supply.
