Police discover a sawed-off shotgun and heroin on two homeless men living in the creek bed at Santa Rosa street and Murry avenue in San Luis Obispo. The men were arrested on various charges, including possession of methamphetamine and heroin.
A homeless site off Capistrano in Atascadero is attracting a lot of coming and going. Residents say young people wearing backpacks are among the frequent visitors to the tent village near the Centennial bridge. That homeless encampment is within one half mile of the Atascadero middle school.
A fire early yesterday morning in San Luis displaced one man, but no one was injured in the early morning fire. Firefighters arrived around 1:00 am early Sunday morning. The fire was contained within about 15 minutes.
