A former Pismo Beach man convicted of child molestation is sentenced to 16 years in state prison. 43-year-old Donald Keith Roberts had relocated to Washington State, but police in Snohomish county cooperated with the investigation and extradition.
While governor Gavin Newsom talks about a $400 rebate for Californians to offset the skyrocketing cost of gasoline. Congress is now looking at a $100 per month stimulus payment per person and $100 for each dependent. The money would go to areas like California where the gasoline prices are more than $4 a gallon.
Despite the high cost of gas, the Rides of March took place over the weekend. More than 100 vintage scooters rode around the county in a tradition that dates back to 1989. On Saturday, they rode old vespas from San Luis Obispo north on highway one, and then over to Paso Robles and back south to San Luis along rural routes. They held events along the way, concluding with a barbecue at Cuesta regional park in San Luis.
