Back in 1999, a 39-year-old man murdered 36-year-old Angelina Marie Roe and dumped her body in a 45-foot excavation site in Atascadero. Construction workers found her body.
Michael Anthony Morgan is now 61-years-old. He’s serving time for the first-degree murder of Roe back in May of 1999. This week, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation denies parole for Morgan.
Back in 1999, Morgan told the Telegram-Tribune that he personally killed Roe, and should receive the death penalty for the crime. He was sentenced to 26 years to life in prison.
Morgan was denied release on parole for ten years because he refused to take responsibility for the crime, and behaved poorly in prison. At the hearing, he changed his story, claiming a co-defendant committed the murder.
