A large crowd packed the Paso Robles city council room. People turning out to talk about the parking program in the downtown area. Among them, Gina Fitzpatrick of the Paso Robles chamber of commerce.
After more than an hour of public testimony, the council weighed in on the program. Fred Strong telling other council members there are other options to the program as it exists today. There’s timed parking and shuttles.
After repeated deadlocks, they finally approved a motion for a pilot program.
There will still be two free hours, then the parking fee goes up to $2 per hour.
After 90 days, they’ll look and see if the program is in the black, or if it continues to lose money for the city.
