Paso Robles city council meets this evening.
On the consent agenda, approve and adopt an ordinance for community choice aggregation Monterey Bay Community Power Public Works. The council will also discuss weed abatement tonight.
Then, the big item is for a special meeting tomorrow night. That’s the revised short term rental ordinance zoning code amendment. The council is looking at three options. The planning commission version and the short term rental task force version. Each of which stipulate different boundaries and regulations for vacation rentals. Ordinance C would phase out all non-hosted accommodations in the R-1 zone. Katrina Keats says she’s shocked by the number of short term vacation rental properties on the west side. 12% of the 832 homes on the west side have a license to operate at a short term vacation rental. That’s 100 homes. The discussion on short term rentals is tomorrow at the library conference room. That recessed meeting gets underway at 6:30 Wednesday night.
