Another election issue manifesting last night at the Paso Robles school board meeting.
You may remember, the school board appointed Kenneth Enny to serve on the school board for an abbreviated two year term.
That was reversed after a staffer at the school district circulated a petition to remove him. Last Friday, James Brescia of the county office of education verified that 455 signatures were valid. As a result, Enny’s appointment was terminated that day. Instead the school board will conduct a special election on March 7th to fill the position. The cost about 493 thousand dollars. Just under one half million.
Several people spoke up about the removal during public comment at last nights meeting. Linda Becker said she never heard Enny say anything “hateful” at the meetings he attended. Others spoke about the cost of the special election. Regardless, Kenny Enny is removed. The school district will pay 493 thousand dollars for a special election to replace him. That special election will be conducted March 7th. Kenny Enny will be our guest on Sound Off at one this afternoon.
At last nights school board meeting, Nate Williams was elected president of the school board. Jim Cogan was selected by the board to be clerk, on a 4-2 vote. As one pundit put it, the Paso Robles school board is firmly in the hands of the teacher’s union. We’ll have more on the election tomorrow on KPRL.
