The Paso Robles school board’s next meeting is tomorrow night at 6 pm.
On the board’s agenda for its information items is a presentation for the district’s plan to pursue “inclusive excellence.” The presentation says inclusive excellence focuses on the expectations and success for students, what groups of students are thriving and why, do students feel comfortable in their environments, what is being taught and how, and how the school district can engage community partners in this work.
The agenda says the school district will pursue training plans for junior and high school staff & identify barriers for reaching grade level standards. The presentation also says that 65% of students in the district are bipoc (black, indigenous, people of color), and feel as though staff to not address racism when it is heard. The school district plans to hold professional learning sessions with large parts of staff on various days to learn how to address these situations, as well as enhance the education and professional development of students.
