The next regular meeting for the Paso Robles school board is tomorrow after their closed session at 5:30 pm.
On its agenda is both an update for the aquatic complex, and a memorandum of understanding with channel islands YMCA. District staff has said the aquatic complex, which has been in the works since 2018 when a previous administration bought two stainless steel pools, likely received approval from the DSA on Friday, and the next step will be for the district to receive approved drawings that will allow the district to put the project out to bid.
Staff recommends the project be put out to bid as soon as possible after receiving the drawings. As the district continues to move forward with the aquatic complex, the agenda says that there have been conversations with the city of Paso Robles about the future of the existing pool near Flamson campus. The pool is both on district property and yet is operated by the city. Once the aquatic complex is complete, both the city and the school will have little use for the pool. Because of this, the district will discuss approving a memorandum of understanding with channel islands YMCA, who is interested in forming a partnership with the city and the district to determine the practicality of another afterschool program in the community.
You can attend tomorrow’s meeting in person, or watch online.
