Firefly Aerospace may launch a rocket tonight from Vandenberg air force base.
Firefly may blast into space the Alpha launch vehicle between the hours of six and ten this evening.
The plan is to put it into orbit about 300 kilometers above the earth. Then it will circle the planet every ninety minutes or so.
Lauren Lyons is Firefly Aeropsace chief operating officer. She says, “The real purpose of this mission is to get to space, to get as much data as we possibly can on ascent so that we can come back again on the next flight and do it even better.”
