At Santa Margarita lake yesterday, a man drove his pick-up truck into the lake.
54-year-old Todd Moore of Creston said he became light-headed and accidentally drove his pick-up through a fence, off the road and into the lake. When he hit the water, he recovered and with the help of an onlooker, he managed to get out of the truck. The CHP says medics at the scene determined Moore’s blood pressure was a factor in the accident.
It occurred around 9 yesterday morning near the lake’s recreational area and campgrounds. A nearby camper saw the truck hit the water and quickly launched his boat and positioned it near the sinking truck. The sheriff department’s dive team worked with a tow company to recover the truck from the lake bottom.
