The county health department out yesterday with its weekly covid death count.
They report that since the pandemic began nearly two years ago, 389 people with covid died in the county. Although, they may have died over other health issues, but because they tested positive for covid, their death is described as a covid related death.
Five new deaths reported. All five were over the age of 65. At least one was over 85, but the county health department is not saying how many.
Over the last four days, 2,134 new cases were reported. Omicron is sweeping through the county. It’s infectious, but the symptoms are generally mild.
San Luis Obispo has 441 new cases. Paso Robles 442. Atascadero 214.
To get tested, you may call or email the county health department. They’re still doing testing at the vacant train station building in Paso Robles. That’s located at 800 Pine street.
