The county board of supervisors next regular meeting is tomorrow at 9 am.
On the county’s consent agenda is the appointment of a new County Administrative Officer, Matt Pontes. Pontes has previously served as the Shasta county Executive Officer until 2022, and prior to that, the Assistant Executive Officer in Santa Barbara county. The agenda says that Mr. Pontes will begin his position with an annual salary of around $239 thousand, with $126 thousand in benefits.
Court records show that Pontes was convicted of felony grand theft of more than $950 thirty years ago in 1994, but the case has been expunged from his record.
This meeting will also be the first day for the final two hearings of the Dana Reserve specific plan.
The second hearing is on April 24th. You can attend in person, or watch online.
