Meanwhile, California is providing $75 million dollars in relief funds for illegal aliens living in the state. Undocumented immigrants can get $500 for virus relief. The state will provide most of the money, but some philanthropic partners donated an additional $50 million dollars.
Adults who are in the state illegally can apply for $500 each, and up to $1,000 for each household. State officials expect to help about 150,000 people living in California, although the number of undocumented workers in the state is in the millions.
Today is the first day to apply for the funds on a first-come, first serve bases. Those living in San Luis Obsipo and Monterey counties can apply for funds through Commuity Action Board Santa Cruz.
