The county board of supervisors will holding a public hearing for its annual action plan in its next meeting tomorrow.
The plan will be submitted to the US Department of housing and urban development in the spring of next year, and is used to describe how the county will allocate federal grant funds to address the county’s housing, homelessness, and community development needs. The meeting’s purpose is to allow members of the public to address the board directly in identifying areas of need.
Based on previous years, the current estimated funding for the 2024 action plan is approximately 2.7 million dollars in federal grants. 1.7 million is estimated to be allocated to community development, 800 thousand dollars to affordable housing, and around 150 thousand dollars to emergency solutions for emergency shelters and homeless prevention.
A 30 day public comment period for the action plan will begin in January for the action plan, and will be brought back in a second hearing in April of 2024. You can attend tomorrow’s meeting in person, or watch online.
