A mid morning crash on the cuesta grade slowed southbound traffic for over an hour yesterday. The accident occurred around 10:30 in the southbound lanes past the west Cuesta Ridge trailhead. About four vehicles were involved. That created a big traffic jam for southbound motorists. Several people suffered minor injuries.
A small fire in the Salinas riverbed yesterday afternoon around 12:30. The vegetation fire was in the riverbed just south of the Niblick bridge. A little warmer the next couple days in the north county, then we’ll see temperatures drop into the low 90’s again. But today and tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 90’s…as you’d expect during the California mid state fair.
