Over 11,000 students celebrated St. Patrick’s Day this weekend for Cal Poly’s second annual Morning on the Green music festival.
The festival kicked off at 4 am, and is put on officially by Cal Poly to keep parties off the residential streets of San Luis Obispo. Law enforcement remained in the residential area to ensure there were no unruly gatherings.
For the most part, officials said that things were quiet this weekend, as a majority of foot traffic went to the campus early on. The city also said they saw “no attempts at gathering in the streets in neighborhoods,” unlike previous years.
Police reported there were some noise violations and issues cited, with one arrest being made for assault in downtown San Luis Obispo.
The safety enhancement zone for San Luis Obispo will continue to remain in effect through March 17th.
