San Luis Obispo police say that the driver who navigated his car through a small crowd of protesters during Tuesday’s black lives matters protest march was fearful of their “mob mentality.” Police say the driver was justified in moving through the crowd. The county health department confirms another 74 new cases of Covid-19. The Atascadero post office briefly closed when postal employees found a suspicious package. The post office reopened when it was determined the package was not a threat.
The Mineral fire is finally fully contained. The fire started back on July 13th in the hills west of Coalinga. Over the past ten days it’s burned nearly 30,000 acres in western Fresno county. The fire started on Mineral road near an old hot springs in the mountains just west of Coalinga.
Forecasters say it will be sunny and warm today, becoming cooler Saturday and Sunday. We’ll see high temperatures around 99 this afternoon, then it will cool into the upper 80’s Saturday and Sunday.
