San Luis Obispo county is going to spend one million dollars with the North American Weather Consultants to seed clouds during the rainy season in an effort to refill Lopez lake.
The reservoir levels dropped to under 30% of capacity last spring.
The recent rains are helping, but supervisors believe that the cloud seeding operation by the Utah company will help.
The company shoots silver iodide into the air which may create more rainfall over the lake’s watershed area.
