A child riding an ATV at the Oceano Dunes was severely injured yesterday afternoon, and needed to be airlifted to a hospital.
Officials say a 12 to 13-year-old boy was driving the vehicle at a “high rate of speed” near post 4 at the Oceano Dunes, when he collided with two other riders on the beach. The two other riders sustained minor injuries.
The boy was transported to the Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
