A fire broke out on Friday afternoon near the intersection of highway 46 and highway 41 at the Cholame Y.
The Antelope fire has since then grown to over 2,400 acres, burning in both Kern and San Luis Obispo counties. Both the 46 and 41 were closed in the area on Sunday, but CHP Templeton has since announced they have reopened. The fire is at 45% containment as of 6:58 pm on August 9th, but Cal Fire also says that forward progress of the blaze has been stopped.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
