The Atascadero city council will hold a public hearing in its next meeting tomorrow regarding the adoption of its 2045 general plan.
The 2045 general plan was developed as an update to their 2002 general plan, which had a horizon year of 2025, and outlines the city’s goals in approaching housing, economic development, land use, mobility, public services, and safety. The city must develop the general plan and implement its framework to comply with state law, and mitigate potential environmental impacts. The hearing on Tuesday is the final hearing for the general plan, after which land use policies from it will be implemented in a zoning code update, scheduled for planning commission action on October 6th, and city council action on the 27th.
