The Atascadero police department has received a grant from the California office of traffic safety.
The APD says the grant, totaling $46,800 will go towards additional programs and resources to conduct traffic safety and DUI enforcement operations. This includes DUI checkpoints, community presentations on traffic issues, officer training and re-certification to detect and evaluate impairment levels, and more.
The grant program runs through September 2027.
