A vegetation fire broke out yesterday afternoon on the Cuesta grade, due to a car fire adjacent to the highway.
Cal Fire closed the #2 and #3 lanes of the 101 north due to the incident, with nearby areas under evacuation orders. These orders were lifted as containment for the fire grew. Forward progress was reported to be stopped at about 6:00 pm yesterday, and the fire was last reported to be at 33 acres.
