The San Luis Obispo county elections office has used state funding to acquire and deploy a votemobile for this general election cycle.
The clerk-recorder’s office says this votemobile will be used as an official mobile ballot drop box. The elections office will roll out this brand-new vehicle on October 24th. During the next two weeks, it will serve as a secure ballot box that will host pop-up ballot collection events. The first will be at the Arroyo Grande high school parking lot from 10 am to 2 pm this Saturday. Additional drop off events are planned at Cuesta college and a few other locations around the county between October 24th and November 3rd. Details will be listed on: slovote.gov as events are confirmed.
While the vehicle is called the votemobile, when there isn’t an election, the office will deploy it to host pop-up vital records events and “destination marriage ceremonies” at county parks, currently only available in the downtown San Luis Obispo office.
