San Luis Obispo county, for the 13th year in a row, has been recognized with the distinguished budget presentation award.
This award is given by the government finance officers association, recognizing “the county’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence in financial planning.” The county executive office says this recognition was evaluated against nationally recognized guidelines, and demonstrated proficiency in its criteria. Criteria asks for coherent statements of strategic goals and strategies, priorities and issues, and budget overview among others.
Assistant chief executive officer Lisa Howe said “This recognition reflects our commitment to responsible stewardship of public resources and to presenting financial information in a way that is clear, transparent, and meaningful to the community.”
