Work is set to begin on Monday, October 5th for the Salinas water pipeline.
County public works will be replacing two deteriorated segments of the pipeline that supplies raw water from Santa Margarita lake to the water treatment plant for the city of San Luis Obispo. During construction, the public can expect to see work along the shoulder of the southbound lane of the US 101 between Tassajara Creek road and Cuesta Springs road.
Work will continue through November 9th, 2026. Large construction vehicles will need to enter and exit the site during nighttime hours of 7 pm to 6 am. This may induce a 10-minute delay to travelers. No delays are anticipated outside of these hours.
