The county of San Luis Obispo has responded to the recent allegations by the department of justice of alleged non-citizen voters registered to vote in San Luis Obispo county.
A formal letter has been sent to Bilal Essayli, first assistant United States attorney for the central district of California. The full letter can be read on the county’s website. Part of it reads: “After careful consideration, the registrar must decline your requests.” It goes on to say: “The list you provided of ‘suspected’ non-citizen voter registrants does not include sufficient individualized evidence to support a determination that any particular registered vote is in fact ineligible.
