The county sheriff’s coroner has identified the victims of the five-vehicle pileup on the Cuesta grade that occurred last week on Wednesday night.
After about 11:25 pm, a wrong-way driver allegedly crashed into a dodge charger south of Hawk Hill road, with three more cars then crashing into the two vehicles shortly after. The wrong-way driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was identified by CHP as David Worthington Ross.
The passenger of the dodge charger died at the scene, now identified as 55-year-old Cezar Roy of Grover Beach, the owner of Gordon’s Good Games in Atascadero. The woman, who was driving the charger, was hospitalized at Adventist Health Sierra Vista with major injuries. She was pregnant, and her unborn child was pronounced deceased.
