That 6.4 earthquake in Humboldt county early yesterday took a greater toll than first reported. It occurred at 2:34 early yesterday morning. Two people died as a result of medical emergencies occurring during and just following the earthquake. 11 people were injured. And there was a lot of damage. 70,000 people lost power early yesterday.
A judge rules that Scott Peterson will not get a new murder trial. The Cal Poly graduate was convicted in 2004 of murdering his wife Lacey, whom he met while attending Cal Poly. A judge rejects his claim that a juror in that murder trial was biased against him. Lacy Peterson’s mother issues a statement saying, “We are thankful for the judge’s decision that confirms Scott did receive a fair trial. We appreciate juror number 7 for her courage and honesty during this process.”
