It took weeks of discussion, but the Paso Robles school board finally completed their response to the grand jury report which was entitled, Paso Robles School District, A Cautionary Tale. Their report described how Chris Williams and his administrators fleeced the school district. The discussion about who is to blame became angry at time.
Tuesday night, county school superintendent, who has also been named by the grand jury for his role in the debacle, showed up at the school board meeting and spoke directly to the board about his role in the $250 thousand dollar pay out to Chris Williams when he resigned.
Later Tuesday night, school board president Chris Arend got angry at trustee Chris Bausch and volunteered to go to jail if the response is incorrect. President Chris Arend said he would turn the response into the grand jury yesterday, although it’s not due until the 17th. A copy of the school board’s response will also be forwarded to district attorney Dan Dow. His office may investigate the school district to ascertain if criminal charges will be filed against former and current administrators who were hired and promoted by superintendent Chris Williams. Those administrators include several who are still working in the district office. They were the administrators who implemented Williams ill-advised spending as he fleeced the Paso Robles school district.
